My personal experience
>School orders crates of shitboxes
>Students get them
>By the end of the year like 5% of them look like pic related
>Students stop paying attention in class and just facebook or watch muted youtube videos all day

They should get chrome books
Also fuck giving students iPad like some schools do, forcing them to pay if it is stolen too. Its like forcibly taking a loan.

The charter school I work at its optional to use a school machine, and they only have to pay for serious shit like breaking screens cracking hinges etc
My college only has computers for sale, usually old white MacBooks or Dells. They all come with office and other shiz, which is pretty good since most of them are about two hundred and fifty pounds (fuck having a US MacBook where there's no gbp sign)
