Is this build good? I will just use it for normalfag stuff (web browsing, movies, music) and maybe a couple of not very intensive games. Do you think I should ditch AMD and get something by Intel? I'm short on money, btw.
I'll be running loonix on this and this will be my main (and only) computer. I need the hardware to run well, and I need to know which linux distro has proper drivers.
I used Crunchbang for quite some time but it's abandoned now. Should I install Debian or go with Slackware?

bamp
would go for 350W seasonic poewr supply if available for reasonable price
SSD

>Power Supply
Yep, I'll change that.
>SSD
why, though? Is the difference very significant?
wtf, /g/
Still waiting
Go with an i3-6100 some cheapo ddr4 ram and mobo will do
The PSU is fine if your not overclocking
It's overpriced, here's a better value build for $195:

The difference between 1866 MHz and 2133 MHz RAM is like 2 more FPS. Not really worth it.
Do the build and save up for a $100 R7 360 as soon as you can, it's the best value GPU imho.
>>55027343
Fuck off you intel shill. Take your shitty intel graphics with you too.

Holy fuck, thanks.
Do you think there will be issues with drivers on Debian?

Can I get some opinions on this build? I'm trying to keep it below $1250 USD so would AMD be the way to go or would it be Nvidia here? I'm also trying to have a computer that can run most everything for the next couple years. Can this do it?
>>55027454
Unlikely, debian has improved driver-wise in the latest release especially with APUs.
>>55027491
That was my biggest concern. Thanks.
>>55027364
The integrated graphics was Intel's biggest improvement in Skylake.

why would you not just wait for the 480 to come out and snag the 8gb version?
you would be saving $100 right there.
I'm absolutely sure that a 750W PSU is overkill, doubly so if you do wait for the 480.
also, it is worth being honest to yourself; are you going to overclock? If not you can save a few bucks buying the non-K version.
Your build sucks for $250. Here's a better one:

Single threaded performance is more important than multi-threaded, but an i3 still has 4 threads so the more intensive stuff won't crash. A stronger iGPU is unimportant if you aren't doing light gaming, and even then the skylake iGPU is fine. You didn't even include storage, so I threw in an SSD just in case. The included Cooler Master PSU isn't the greatest, but without a dedicated GPU this build consumes almost no power so it'll do just fine. The SSD will be much more noticeable.

This cooler master case is better.
