I remember my GTX 260. It was the best card I ever had. Decent performance, fan quiet at 100%, and very low temps. It idled in the 30s.
But Nvidia is dead to me now.

In reality 480 Crossfire probably uses around 220 watts
1070 uses around 170 watts
Call it 32 hours of gaming a week, 480 crossfire needs $3.38 a month, 1070 needs $2.61. Means 65 months to equal out.

I have the Quadro version of this card.
It's incredibly terrible. I wanted to get another one to put in SLI with the first one but when I noticed that the air path was mainly getting out from the bottom of the card, I stepped back.
It gets terrible framerates in the rare games I tried. On Metal Gear Revengeance, it's terrible, and it can't handle TF2 on medium at 60 FPS.
Now, it runs Battlefield 1942 all fine but, come on...
