Why does my headset sound so shit when not using the dongle it came with? And when I do use the dongle, the headphones are quiet as fuck

any pair of quality headphones and a $20 desk mic. Shit, if you have a webcam you can just use the mic on that. That's what I do. It works perfectly, I have no issues with people misunderstanding me when I play games.

If you start with a entry level audiophile headphone you "WILL" say goodbye to your wallet for pricier headphone gear.

Paired my G430's up with Samson Metero mic... they sound fine to me. can blast my ears off now, before the mic it was a bit too quiet.
I've had that exact headset for over a year and no problems here.
