Anyone here know of a good US based Vostok webstore?

My little brother's birthday is coming up soon and I think he's ready to graduate from his Timex, but I don't have 8 weeks to wait like when I ordered mine from Shmek.
>>
>>54997902

It's lovely, but that strap and buckle are like $500+

And imho my NATO keeps the watch safer.

If I only wore my watch during special occasions it would be the go to choice. But the speedy is my daily.

Tourniquet/10

Seriously, fucking loosen that strap you chubby shit.
>>
>>54997858
That looks absolutely atrocious, in almost every way. Geometry looks wrong, measurements look wrong. You got the strap interface correct though.

Get the .dwg correct, or don't bother, because the result will be incorrect. You need sloping, radial recesses of some kind on the non-visible "shoulders" of that adapter.
>>
>>54998387
>You need sloping, radial recesses of some kind on the non-visible "shoulders" of that adapter.
Forgot to mention why you need them.

The linkage is far too long, try to shorten it.

Or, if you're feeling ambitious, have it interface with the dial as well as the lug, fixing it in place.
>>
>>54998315
>>54998387
Well, I did say I was going to make some adjustments.
>>
>>54998473
I do plan on shortening it slightly. I'm planning to tighten up some of the gaps and reduce the thickness as well.

As for sloping the adapter, I'm not sure if I'll do it, but I'll play around with the design.

I've probably thought about this too much, but I like it for this reason...
Hour hand: Biggest square, represents the largest increment of time.
5-minute markers: Medium square, represents the second largest increment of time.
Seconds hand: Smallest square, represents the smallest increment of time.

Also the difference in size between the small and medium and medium and large squares is the same.

Yours is charged by using your fingers, and unless you really, really mess up you always have those with you. Smartwatch people need a cable and a power source to do theirs.

It's a chronograph, not a chronometer. And the year is not more useful than a chronograph.
>>
>>55012224
If you can't even remember what year or even month it is I think you have bigger problems than features you don't need on your watch.
>>
>>55012477
>the year
>>55012813
>remember what year

The watch has to keep count of the year in order to handle leap years properly. It is hard to fathom how you could possibly forget this. Too many G-shocks?

I always thought those were named after electric shocks to the genitals, hence the name. Could explain a few things.

I just don't get the thought process here. I mean it's literally retarded.

Pocket watches were he norm until wrist watches came about and were more convenient.
So, now people argue that wrist watches are irrelevant because you always have a clock in your pocket, essentially a pocket watch. A proven less convenient way of telling time.

I just don't even.
>>
>>55012981

Hmm, thanks.

My interests in watches are very specialized with an interest in tritium (yes, that is me) that originates from outside of horology (including having been a spark, see >>55014790). Add a use of ISO date in my present line of work work and some troubled eyesight, stir and destill and you get my peculiar preferences.

Unfortunately what I want is not available for money. I met a watch maker and mentioned my needs and while he was an enthusiastic gentleman he felt he was too old to restart new designs.

As for languages, English is my 3rd language (depending on some definitions). Expect oddities.
