MSAA?
TXAA?
SSAA?
FXAA?
TXAA?
others Iv missed

DSR?
VSR?
Been using theses abit and they seem to work well without much drawbacks or lost of image quality and me doesnt blurry the hell out of the image as much but I might just be me.

This is at 1440p vsr on on 1080p screen with no AA,notice the lose of tree green between them.
>>
AA is placebo that just kills your framerate for no reason
>>
MSAA look great but is heavy the on fps.
FXAA is very light but look blurry.
SSAA is pretty light and look better than FXAA, i use SweetFX to use it in BF3 or GTA5 for exemple.
>>
>>54996358
None. Sharp edges are the best.
>>
>>54996411
This one looks better
>>
>>54996421
I know you are trolling but it really bothers me to see jagged edges when approaching/looking at an object.

When something is completely still and a slight movement in camera angle makes like say, the corner of a wall have a seizure or some shit. It's really off putting.

FF8 is like this.
>>
4x MSAA literary is like running the game at twice the resolution and downscaling
Minus good texture filtering that is
>>
>>54996606
almost every PlayStation game is like this
still better than the blurry shit n64 puts out
>>
>>54996623
I'd prefer the blur vs. NES-tier pixel art that is/was PS1
>>
>>54996358
DEAA is nice and light but needs an extra byte per pixel in the frame buffer but gives a very clean image.
>>
>>54996710
If I enable that will the gov seize my video games?
>>
>>54996358
4K - Ultra High Definition
With 4x MSAA
>>
SSAA is the best, MSAA is the best for actually getting a playable framerate, all the others are just supposed to be more optimised or are just trash tier post processing effects (like FXAA which just blurs everything whilst still leaving aliasing artifacts).

It should, because its 1440p. OP is using different resolutions to help "prove" that AA is good. I find it to be a memory hog, so I just tell it to fuck off when I play higher than 1080p.
>>
>>54996650
PS1 gaymes look a lot better than N64 ones once you render them at a higher resolution in an emulator. It cleans up the image massively, whereas with the N64 you just end up noticing how many fucking blurry sprites were used in place of 3D models on that system.
>>
>>54997226

We are comparing N64 and PS1

>once you render them at a higher resolution in an emulator.

So basically when you run the game not using PS1 technology but rather on a PC using software with modifications!??! You don't say!

I guess we can say the same thing for N64.
>>
>>54997272
Did you even read what I wrote, you autistic retard, or did you get triggered so hard that you had to respond after the first few words? I was comparing both running on an emulator at a higher resolution.
>>
>>54996358
Rendering at 4k and downsampling to 1080p.

I believe MSAA is the equivalent AA mode to that.

I remember back on CRTs, it was cheaper and more useful to just bump up the resolution than to use any kind of AA. But then LCD screens became prevalent, and so they had to come up with 4 new AA modes to make it more efficient, because you had a fixed resolution.
>>
>>54997303
What you wrote came off as "hurddurr PS1 is better"
>>
>>54997226
>PS1 gaymes look a lot better than N64 ones once you render them at a higher resolution in an emulator.

N64 gaymes look a lot better than emulator upscaled PS1 ones once you render them at a higher resolution and use hi-res texture packs in an emulator.
>>
>>54997325
Maybe if you're retarded. But yes, the PS1 was a better console than the N64.

>>54997353
No, they don't. N64 gaymes look like shit even rendered at a higher resolution in an emulator. I already covered this.
>>
>>54997388
I think you're retarded anon. Sorry, I should be more courteous and aware of public retardation.

SSAA is way more heavy than MSAA and also way better.
I think you want to say SMAA instead (as you refer to FXAA).
>>
>>54997679
the ones way in the back
>>
i absolutely love TAA as shown in recent Battlefront game and fallout 4.

it might blur the picture alot but damn does it little to the framerate and frametimes while smoothing everything out, even in the distance
>>
>>54996358
none, as i'm not autistic enough to waste processing power blurring my games, id rather have the sharp jaggies then waste frames and a vaseline filter
>>
I only have a 380 4gb so 4x maaaate at 1080p isn't always possible. If I have to I'll use FXAA + sharpening using sweetfx.

If only all game engines were as good as ID Tech 6. I usually get close to or more than 60fps at 1080p with 4x txaa.
>>
>>54997681
Yep, SMAA, you're right
>>
>>54996358
but, what if we would have deep convolutional neural network based anti-aliasing per every game? :^)
>>

>"we use AA to smooth out games because right now we're using such low resolution that jaggies are noticeable; in the future when resolutions get higher, we won't have to use AA any more"
