Thoughts on this bad boy? Building a new from scratch and thinking about investing heavily in it. Founders edition sucks by all accounts regarding sound and cooling, but what to do?

Installing gentoo would be a start. Then you can kill yourself.

Don't plan to, but there a 4 main companies selling it off soon. Asus, gigabyte, evga, and nvidia. Just don't know which one to grab. Future proofing this as hard as possible so any opinions would be welcome

Asus has best quality. 100% guaranteed.

Evga has best support, gigabyte is a meme.

Dear Pajeet,

We appreciate your support. Unfortunately, we have no compensation available. And you do it for free anyway.

Regards,
Asus

I'm sure it's fine, but I haven't owned an Nvidia card since the 6800GT, and I haven't been given a good enough reason to buy another one.

EVGA is the gold standard for Nvidia

I got the reference (sorry, but I refuse to call it founder's). It's completely silent and runs cool. For the time being, though, I'm only gaming on 1080p so honestly I'm not doing anything intensive yet. I would wager there is some stock in heating issues people report, but only if you're maxing at 4k (which isn't ludicrous considering you just paid $700 for a card)

I'm completely satisfied with my purchase thus far.
>>
Is Asus GTX1080 Strix already released? I don't see it for sale in my country yet..
>>
>>54988667
It's still on preorder here (and for 849€). Would be too much if I couldn't deduct the taxes personally
>>
>>54986819
you guys should better wait for the ti version. nvidia always has the same pattern: release an underclocked version, wait ~one year, release the "real" version as "ti".
>>
you should wait 4 years because by then we will have better cards and better games not this bullshit thats shoveled around every few months
