Anyone care to rate my planned first build?
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/lbazyaka/saved/fgg8TW
I don't care about not needing that much RAM
Also don't care that I won't be able to use freesync with Nvidia card
Just wanna know if the list is ok

I'm not gonna leave them alone
>>
This build is so fucking meme-ladden I don't know where to start. It's like I'm seeing money thrown down the toilet. You can achieve the same kind of performance for 3/4 or 1/2 of this price.
>>
fuck off luke
>>
>>54955492

The mobo is way too expensive. look to spend 175 or so. Ram is fine. drives are fine. for the money get noctua industrial fans (the black ones) Dont get a 27inch 1080p monitor. the cpu cooler is a meme but should be okay, consider just getting a noctua air cooler instead. Beyond that lots of jelly poorfags are gonna hate. also kill yourself faggot :^)

It will be outdated at the end of the year when we get cards with HBM2 like the GTX 1080Ti and Vega 10 .
>>
>>54958692
and those cards will be outdated 6 months later
>>
>>54958447

GTX 970 is really not good to pick anymore.
Either AMD R9 390 8GB (Which I personally own) or wait for GTX 1070 (Recommanded).
Why the 8GB? because some games will already use that much GDDR5 and especially if you wanna future proof your build for higher resolution gaming (in crossfire or sli) or if you want to add mods to games which have large texture packs (Skyrim or any other game).

i5 6600K is a good one though. and Since the newer generation Codename Cannonlake will support the same socket (Heard this somewhere) as the Skylake generation (6000).
So if you ever wanna upgrade you still have alot of options.
>>
>>54958498
Mmm let say 1.5k but in argentina... A 970 is around 630 usd, so guess my actual budget

>>
Please have mercy on me for being a bit outdated, but by friday I will have this PC for less than £400 (tight budget):
FX 8350 Black Edition
16gb DDR3 RAM
R9 270x 4gb
240gb Hyper X Savage SSD
2tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
Corsair 750CX

I plan to replace the R9 270x with something in the £300 range. Maybe a RX 480 8gb model when it comes out.

Have I done OK? I'm not looking at VR or 4k at the moment. Just smooth 1080p to play years of backlogged PC games on with a few new ones too.
I know FX8350 isn't the best CPU, (especially compared to Intel) but from what I've seen its gained some nice performance boosts lately.

Most of the stuff manufacturers put into expensive consumer grade motherboards are mostly useless for alot of people.
In example motherboard shrouds or "armor", integrated wifi, integrated bluetooth and memest of them all, RGB-LED (literally why). You can easily shave off around 50-100 motherboard price. Also as >>54965147 is saying, you are already going so all-in on this one so why not get 1080.

>>54965728
Nothing to complain about anymore. Although I'd consider getting the Windows lisence from sites like kinguin or somewhere else for around 20-30 dollars. I've bought 2 Windows 10 Pro licenses and saved at least 100 dollaroos for not getting it straight from microsoft or any other jew retailer. I did have problems first time around with the key being blocked, but since I got the 1dollar buyers protection I had the issue resolved within 2 days and haven't had any problems yet.

>>54965842
It's because cheap AIOs are just as good or even worse than as slightly cheaper air coolers.
Also some people are just paranoid about something breaking/leaking water around their components.
Personally I like regular air coolers more since if the fan breaks, my case fans can still adequately cool the CPU and prevent any permanent damage, unlike water coolers which make BBQ CPU if the pump stops. I just like to have the amount of points of failure down, since breaking heatsinks without brute force is pretty much impossible.

Is there any /g/ approved build, primarily for work, for under 1000 Yuropoors?
Or are there any shops/services with acceptable prebuild systems that won't completely jew you?
>>
>>54966166
Prebuilt systems are always a jew fiesta, most of them having 100-200€ on top the price of the components.
What extra peripherals exactly do you need? I'm betting you have at least a mouse, keyboard and a monitor. So the question is, Is your 1000€ budget all for the computer or are you planning to fit anything else in the budget?
>>
>>54966254
Oh right I forgot, most of the prebuilts have non-standard power supply connectors, and most likely bad component placement overall.
AND biggest of them all, they can be most of the time impossible to upgrade, since power supplies with nonstandard connectors are real bitch to deal with.

Liquid cooling might have iproved, but what if it leaks.. sure it might be non-conductive, but what if?

Other than that looks decent anon. Consider going 1440p if you are going 1070. Don't let these Autists tell you to buy less than 16Gb of RAM. If you use your computer like people around here do, you'll want 16Gb. Samsung 850 Pro is overpriced, but it's a good drive nonetheless.

>>
>>54966966
I respect that. Regardless I would recommend IPS. If you've never owned a nice IPS, they are gorgeous in person, and the colors are great for gaming. But, if that's the panel you want, go for it. Also you could get a cheaper/lower wattage PSU. Looks set otherwise.

Thanks so far, looks good. I'd only change the A-Data SSD.
Imo A-Data is trash, especially the support and the GTX970, don't really need that much for gaymes from time to time.
I just made a build myself, threw parts together as i see fit, does it look good?
http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/3QQ32R
I't about 100 above my budget, but i'd really like to keep the i7 for work. Maybe i'll have to switch it for the i5 to keep my budget.
>>
>>54967003
Someday I plan to get an IPS. For now, it's high quality TNs for me.
Also I plan to someday run SLI, so I'm keeping this one. It's also only ~$10 more than the 750W
>>
>>54967030
I updated the list to include the i7, SSD and a 2TB HDD
Added better RAM than the HyperX for the same price.
I left it at my list's mATX case and mobo cause they're cheaper and will do the job.

Have a pretty nice desktop but don't want to lug it to school in the fall again. Would rather have a decent mITX. The 380X is a placeholder for the RX480. Budget is 1k or less. Going to be using it for school work and some gaming (but not a ton). Have a 1080p monitor and other peripherals already.

You seem pretty reddit, but I'll help you out. Firstly, Windows 10 is a shit OS. It's shittily made (If somebody has the image with the dropdown chat, post it), it has spyware preinstalled. Not only that but some games just refuse to work. Also, there was a webm of some CS:GO player who had his PC shutdown mid-game for Win10 to update.

The parts you picked are memes. 144Hz only matters if you're playing high level competitive gameplay or something. Just get a nice 1080p monitor.

Anyways, rate mine: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bbbscc

One last thing.. is there any reason to take the Asus Z170M-PLUS over the Z170-K?
The Z170-K looks somewhat more appealing to me.
Thanks in advance, really gotta go now. Don't want to fall asleep at the auditorium.

There's a bunch of videos on how to disable the spyware during installation and all that shit. Also, I'm not gonna buy the $200 version, just a Kinguin code (see >>54964536). Third, I'm getting the Pro version so I can indefinitely postpone updates (seriously microsoft?). As for the monitor, I tried my friend's 144hz and holy shit was it much better looking than my 60hz.

Been working on this for fun even though I have no money to build it with.

I believe it should compete very strongly in the range of price/performance for a PC.

Parts list
>Cooler Master Haf-X Full Tower
>Asrock dual socket 2011 motherboard with full modern set of features including on-board m.2 slot
>2x Xeon x5-2670 which is the current meme CPU for price/performance
>2x Arctic Cool 20 plus CPU coolers that are cheap but quiet and will handle the Xeons just fine
>32gb of 1333mhz DDR3 ECC memory which is really cheap right now and good enuff for anything you want to do for a long time
>Radeon RX 480 8gb which is looking to shape up to be a price/performance king
>Delta 1000w PSU, Delta is known to be a good solid brand in the enterprise sector. 38A is enough for any GPU you throw at it so future drive additions or SLI/Crossfire is possible
>256gb Samsung PN951 NVME SSD for OS
>2tb Hitachi Ultrastar for data

Any comments or tips would be welcome.

Possible changelist
>3tb drive if they are considered reliable at this point
>higher frequency memory modules if 1333mhz can be demonstrated to be too slow
>>
>>54963187
why the fuq do you need 1TB of SSD?

u got that much porn?
>>
>>54970620
hold on, that's the wrong motherboard.

That one in the image is a socket 2011 v3 and v4 motherboard. It needs to be a v1. They do make these, I'll have to look some more.
>>
>>54969512

>>54970722
This is the correct motherboard.
http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=EP2C602-4L/D16#

And it is about the same price. It lacks the onboard m.2 slot, so an adapter would be needed and that increases the price by $10. It also needs DDR4 memory instead of DDR3. You can probably get away with only 24gb of RAM and use server ECC DDR4 memory and end up spending $96, or $51 more from the DDR3 plan.

So add something around $110 to the original build cost.
>>
>>54970756
HGST of course, as long as they are still considered better than Seagate.

>>54970916
Updated image. Also found out you -can- use DDR3 if you pick the right motherboard. And if you wait for SuperBiiz to have the motherboards in stock they are only $308.

Theoretically you could do these things to shave more off the cost.

>Use NZXT Source 530 case, -$40
>use stock intel coolers, -$20
>Use only 24gb of RAM, -$10
>Forgo SSD and use a cheap HD as boot drive or use the data drive by itself, -$110

You can come in under $1000 without missing too much.
>>
>>54962130
Except they're not missing anything. They don't cool better. They're not quieter. They're more expensive. They're only useful if you have clearance issues.

>>54965842
>I think they're great. Look cool, no problem with ram heat spreader clearance, etc.
You're basically trading off noise for looks, and I'd rather something be a tad quieter 100% of the time than look slightly cooler 0.001% of the time when I bother to open up my case.

My 3930k @ 4.7ghz will draw like 200w when I get up it for the rent, according to core temp.

I've got a 3770k but that's stock since I rarely use it, my monitors draw more power than it could without a proper overclock.
>>
>>54973367
The CPU alone?
>>
>>54973717
That's what core temp suggests and it can't be too far wrong.

UPS shows 400-500w draw at the same time but monitors and other shit probably make up ~130w of that.

>8gb 1866mhz ddr3 ram
>i3 3220

My main dilemma is, am I better off buying a good CPU for the 1155 socket? if so what's good? Or should u get a new mobo, 8gb of ddr4 and an i5 6500 or i5 6600k or something?
