Sell me on your mITX case of choice. I've decided to downsize as I travel quite a bit.

I am planning on getting the RX 480 if AMD isn't lying about the power consumption. So it would need to fit that.

I currently have a CM Hyper 212+, but can go to a stock or low profile cooler if necessary to fit case. I don't OC my CPU at all anymore really.

That case is huge for a mitx build, anon.

Exactly. I'm going from a SG09 (23L) so I'm thinking something like the the SG13 or SG05. I've never worked with a case that small so was looking for recommendations on cases that can hold a RX 480 sized card.

I used the Silverstone Raven RVZ02B latest build, brought it with me on business trips and vacations, fits in a regular sized suitcase well. I tried to use a Corsair Graphite 380 T, but it was a bit too big for my needs. The rvz02b fits cards up to 11", but it requires one of those special sized PSUs. Cable management is a bit of a hassle too, but it's going to be if you're going with smaller cases.

I have this case. It has bad GPU airflow. It's placed too close to the PSU on the bottom. It will not fit 2.5 slot cards.

Say the RX 480 consumes as much power as AMD says, what sort of SFX PSU can I get away with. I also have a 3570k.

I'm currently looking at SFX only cases, but am curious as to what the smallest case is that can fit an ATX PSU and full sized GPU.
>>
>>54952202
A high quality 450W PSU is enough for a system with a GTX 980, so I guess you can make do with less for an RX 480. But finding a high quality powersupply less powerful than 450W might be tricky.

The Seasonic G-360 maybe, but I don't know if that's enough to power the entire system. Works well enough in my server at least.

Can I get 1440p/60-90fps performance from a laptop at around $700?
>>
>>54952884
Node 304 was my second choice after the SG09, but those are in the 20L range. I decided at the time to just go mATX since the SG09 was already pretty small. I'm looking to go down to around 11-12L if I can. I'm willing to buy a SFX PSU to facilitate it. Eventually I plan to upgrade the CPU and mobo, but for at least a year I am going to stick with my 3570k and whatever mITX LGA 1155 mobo I can find. Likely will have to settle for an H61 board, but I don't OC anyway really.
>>
>>54952023
Not that bad. Since there's not a lot going on in there, it wasn't so bad. Plus, a fully modular PSU helped. Most of the cables are tucked out of sight in the bottom half of the case.

Took the fan mounting bracket off, stuck the rubber grommets from the AMD mounting kit to the fan and zip tied through the heatsink fins.

Slight problem. The only ITX LGA 1155 mobo I can find is the Asus P8H61-I. Same pic as OP. The CPU placement is right next to the GPU and the 4 pin connector on the other side so I won't have much/any room for a cooler. Even some of the low profile ones I've found extend past the screw holes a bit.

At this point I'm leaning toward the Node 202. One of the smallest cases (~10L) and horizontal so it would be easy to store in a suitcase.

Can anyone recommend low profile cooler that would fit this board? Am I limited to a stock intel cooler?
>>
>>54969751
I don't recommend this cooler due to its sheer size (probably won't fit the case you're looking at) >>54957847
But you can see on the RAM side the heat pipes come up within the mounting holes and you can rotate it to mount upward if you want.

It's a GeminII S524. Perhaps they have some similar design coolers that aren't as tall or you could put a slim fan on it to fit. Something to think about.
>>
>>54969032
its a new itx case from Xigmatek that was shown at computex. Looks promising. Has a handle and a removable frame for easy building.
>>
>>54970191
I wonder who actually makes these cases as they have been sold branded as Raidmax and AZZA.

http://www.amazon.com/Azza-Mini-ITX-Computer-STEALTH-CSAZ-105/dp/B00Y09FW4G

Even has a nice little blank area for the logo of "insert your company name here".

Anyways, it's a bit big for a travel size ITX case. If I was traveling with my PC I'd want to cushion it between some clothes/towels in my suitcase instead.
