It improves read write speed where the i/o is the limiting factor. So you'll be able to read/write small files at nearly full speed. It's useful occasionally. But really isn't that huge an improvement.

It tricks benchmarks into thinking your drive's speed is that of your RAM's, also wastes a big amount of RAM as the anon above stated, that's all, it's meme placebo technology. do your own research about it if you think I'm just shitposting.
It fucks everything up in exchange for better benchmarks.
