I bought what seems to be the only gigabyte h77n-wifi board on the market and I think it has a bent pin

How can you not see that it is obviously misaligned from the others. Yes its bent. Theres no retard pin that doesnt conform. Now get somethimg small and flat and fix, unless you need a fucking troll imageboard to hold your hand through that too. Faggot.

Sounds like my experience with the last two I ordered, one even had two bent pins in the socket, bent them back and it was still fucked.

Is there a lack of decent motherboard manufaturers these days? Every advertised just seems gaudy led shit.

It does look like it's completely missing but these things are hard to see.

I use to work at a computer store and I've had to fix enough of these for people to where it doesn't really bother me, you just have to be super fucking careful and understand the shape of the spring and which ways they can and cannot be bent.

If the spring is bent or over-extended at it's natural creases, it's fine to bend back, but if it's bent axially or twisted so that the contact point is not assigned to the same plane that all other contact points are then you're fucked.

Also keep in mind that when you push the CPU down onto the array, each pin is a spring and so reacts to the weight by bending back. You can have a bent pin that looks fine when there is no weight on it but as soon as you throw a CPU on it and press it down it doesn't bend like the other pins, and will not make contact like the rest of the pins.

tl:dr
try bending it back and make sure it bends/flexes like the pins around it, don't be scared, just be careful. i believe in you.

the red cock is where it is now and the blue cock is around where it should be, the green arrow is how it should get bent to work properly
>>
Get a magnifier and a sewing pin or something similar, bend it back very slowly and carefully. I've fixed a few of these before.
>>
Who cares dude just put that shit in, I bent like 3 pins placing my CPU and it still works
