VM's are actually much more convenient than dual booting. Considering that Windows would need GPU pass through but CLI tasks on Linux don't, it makes sense to keep windows as the host os.

Yes, it is. It's a pain in the ass to set up hardware pass through and a hypervisor though. Unless you're doing things which are *nix exclusive AND require direct GPU access , you're really better off just running it in a VM and leaving windows as the host so it still has access to the hardware.

i couldnt update half my packages.
