Had a 980ti for when it was relevant, did fine in 4k,had to lower settings.
Got a second one almost a week ago used with the price drops after the 1080 release, it's amazing in sli.
Runs anything in 4k ultra settings at 60 frames no drops.

Well two 1080s get about 55-70 FPS depending of modern game in 4K. I know this because I have two 1080s.
If you have 60hz monitor, why not.
