Arch wa sugoidesu!

kanpai!!

Been using Arch for 2 years, once up and running it is rock solid. My only issues have been due to a lack of personal intelligence.

I use Arch on my main box, lubuntu and xubuntu on the other two, just to save on updating.

Arch is a waste of time. An OS should be a platform for me to run applications on. It should be a means to an end. Arch is so much about tinkering that it becomes an end unto itself, which isn't productive at all.
>inb4 I want to learn how my computer *really* works
No you don't. All you want to do is copy and paste directions from a wiki and then act like an elitist asshole. Arch's user base is the most cancerous of any distribution apart from maybe Void.

Pic related is obligatory.

KDE did nothing wrong. If you have the RAM to run it, it's a great option. Certainly much better than GNOME these days.

TDE is better though.

>>
>>54905671
It's too minimal for its own good. Requiring the user to do everything. Even if you wanted bleeding edge, why not just use Antergos? If it's about simplicity, then use Slackware. Slackware is how to do simple correctly. Nothing is easier or harder than it needs to be. Arch makes things needlessly complex and then breaks.

Tried it, sucked balls. Had to use Gnome or KDE to get complete set of features including network manager. It was a struggle just to get a complete control panel. For noobs who don't know i3 and openbox config routine, sticking with bloated KDE and Gnome was awful, it defeated the purpose of using Arch. I found pacman to be a complete asshole when compared with Ubuntu apt system.

If only Ubuntu wasn't so shit, I would have used it. For now its back to Windows 8.1.

Architect is one but it is cancerous especially during partitioning and updating bootloader. It almost always fails to detect Windows 10 partition. Then you have to install Manjaro or Ubuntu to fix the stupid issue. I tried Architect like 8 times and each time some complication during installation. Fuck this gay earth.

Yeah, I should just stop. It's just, I'm trying to imagine the kind of guy who would just mindlessly post these images. I am not even trying to insult him right now, it's just -- he is just wasting his time by posting dumb images with false claims about a Linux distribution he probably has never used and has absolutely no relevance to him.

I just don't understand how you get to that point and how you wouldn't be able to reflect on your own behavior to stop it.

>It's just, I'm trying to imagine the kind of guy who would just mindlessly post these images.
It's real easy to imagine, when you know what he is.

What you've got there is someone who got his ass blasted by what he's absolutely convinced are "Arch Linux Elitists" who called him a noob or something. Mind you, they were just the usual garden variety Internet trolls, but he doesn't get that. In his mind, they were real Linux Elitists who shit on him for not being as experienced as they were.

Where does this lead? To the behavior you're seeing right now. A desperate attempt to get revenge by "trolling" them back.

Also just as likely is that he's finally realized he got trolled, and now to stave off the embarrassment he's joining their ranks. Unaware that he's *still* not in on the joke, and never will be.

In any case, it's fucking hilarious to watch. And a great example of the sorts of people who don't, and never will, fit in here on 4chan. Despite all the "trolling" and "irony" attempts, they're still taking the Internet way too seriously.

The most work you put into it is during installation and initial setup, after that it's fine to work with.
Also, excellent memes m8, they definitely want to make me take your opinion seriously

Linux users should learn to boot a live cd and chroot into the system on your hdd anyways. It will very likely save you from needing to completely reinstall a broken system one day.
