Haven't heard bad things about startpage, but I prefer searx since it's completely free software with shitloads of forks and also has an .onion service.

The instant answers are nice too.
DDG works perfectly for 95% of my regular searches but for very specific searches like problems with a library for a programming language I just use Google.
