What's my best bet for a gaming laptop I can survive on for the next 4 years for around $1500?

gaming laptops don't last for 4 years, CPUs cook themselves.

Don't buy a laptop for gaming. I made this mistake when I was younger and while it wasn't a terrible experience I wouldn't ever want to go back to it. The performance really wasn't an issue outside of it sounding like a jet when playing games. The problem was that the life span was just too short.
I'd personally say if you really want to play games just don't get a laptop but if you really need the mobility then get a laptop with a thunderbolt port and hope that the external gpu dock takes off.

>EUIV requires a GeForce 8800 or Radeon X1900 with 512MB RAM
Literally every form of Intel HD Graphics on the market today is more powerful than that.
The five-year-old Intel HD 3000 is about as powerful as that.
