They'll pick apart annoyances one some laptop, but when the Apple equivalent comes along and has the same problem, it gets conveniently swept under the rug so they can maintain their page hits and review unit access.
It isn't until weeks later after mainstream launch that sites like notebookcheck gets their hands on a macbook and fully disclose all the overheating, throttling, color accuracy problems, etc.

you all might not have been aware at the time, but lenovo manufactured Thinkpads for something like a decade or longer BEFORE IBM sold the brand to lenovo. the differences were just
1) lenovo didn't brand it, and
2) IBM had very strict thresholds on quality control parameters.
only really good thinkpads made it out of the factory. if a unit came up short in any way, it wouldn't have made it to the consumer. the same was true for a few years after lenovo got the thinkpad brand (it was one of IBM's terms, that they would maintain the quality standards), but after 3 years or something lenovo was allowed to set their own standards for QC, which is why thinkpads are generally perceived to be lower quality now than they were when IBM was in charge.
