Why the everloving FUCK is Flash so hard to get working on Linux?
I've tried the normal Flash Player, HTML5 conversion plugins, and some stupid shit called PepperFlash and NONE OF IT WORKS
WHY IS FLASH SO SHITTY?
WHY IS LINUX SO CONVOLUTED?
FUUUUUUUCCCKKKKK
inb4 lel, why r u still using flash anyways?
There are still quite a few fucktarded websites that are still using Flash that I need access to.
How can I get Flash to work with Debian 8? (preferably without so much hand tweaking that I might as well just write the code from scratch)
>>54878442
write it from scratch desu senpai
>>54878454
That seems to be the answer for most Linux programs...
Now I am a #MacShack
>Install Ubuntu
>Press "Install third-party software"
>You now have flash
>Adobe stops providing updates to Linux version of Flash
>This is somehow Linux's fault
Install Gentoo and write it yourself.
>>54878442
use chrome
>>54878442
Flash is deprecated and vulnerable software. If you still want some kool-aid, just install chrome
>>54878442
>firefox
pacman -S flashplugin
>chromium
pacaur -S chromium-pepper-flash
it just werks
> Use Chrome
> That's literally it, congrats
What's so hard about this?
>mentally impaired to use chrome
Quit computing.
Consider removing yourself from the gene pool.
>>54878579
>it just werks
On Arch, yes. On other distros, no.
To OP: What do you need Flash for? Porn? Many sites have native HTML5-player and if that doesn't work you can use mpv+youtube-dl.
>install chrome
>just werks
>decide to just install chromium and leave out flash because anything that uses flash is not worth using
>>54878719
my bank is so retarded, it says I need flash for it, but everything works, it also says I am blocking cookies, which it needs, but I'm not
>>54878730
My bank does the same thing about Flash, I'm pretty sure it's for some shitty 'super-cookie' they want to put on my machine so they can track me.

zypper in chromium-pepper-flash chromium-ffmpeg chromium-widevinecdm-plugin

rpm -ivh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux
and then
dnf install flash-plugin nspluginwrapper alsa-plugins-pulseaudio libcurl
done
*le tip my fedora maymay*
>>54878642
>On Arch, yes. On other distros, no.
Hence why Arch is the one distro worth using.
>>54879162
It´s really not, I have arch on a Vm, and it´s pretty useless and complicated for complicateds sake. There is little use for that and I´m happier off with debian or feodora
>>54879227
>complicated for complicateds sake
That's Debian. Ever tried to compile something from source? Enjoy your broken system.
>>54879310
Never had any problems with debian desu. Yes I know it´s the old "works for me" cliche
You know you don´t have to run sid right?
>>54879343
I wish I could run sid without trouble, since I trust rolling releases more in general. But I'm stuck with wheezy on my old shitbox because shitcunt maintainers of debian 8 don't support my video driver anymore. Had to reinstall it twice because a foreign deb broke libc and it was too much of a mess to fix manually.
>>54878442
never had a problem with it and im using debian 8 as well
add non-free and contrib repos and install the package flashplugin-nonfree
the pepperflash thing is for chromium
>>54879407
old amd gpu?
>>54878442
Literally copy and paste the pepperflash.so file to your browser's root directory and it fucking just weeks, you fucking noob ass
Maybe you should just, you know, go back to wangblows you helpless fucko
If you're still here OP:
Go to /fglt/ next time:
Remove all flash player software:
sudo aptitude install pepperflashplugin-nonfree browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash
Open Iceweasel
Enjoy life
I'm pretty sure you need to enable the nonfree and contrib repos.
