Register a MI account, go here, http://en.miui.com/unlock/ give them a phone number so you can receive a verification code and a reason. "I want to install custom roms" is ok.

Its written down nowhere but you can use the volume rocker to switch OS during the bootloader, no keyboard needed as others said. The touchscreen is not enabled until either OS loads. Android->Windows loads faster than Windows-> Android
Have not had any issues with heat generation while charging, but I am using an anker 2.4amp instead of the supplied 3A
People have said the touchscreen isn't sensitive enough, I for one actually like it this way as clicks have to be deliberate and prevents accidental whatever. Build quality is good.

warning though, if you don't have a spare wireless mouse, I suggest you get one of those Rii8 controllers or something. The remote that comes with it works very well for TV apps like Kodi but it's a pain to use for regular apps. There's a mouse cursor button that works in a pinch but it's kind of a pain since you're just using slow directional buttons to input mouse movement.

Pretty sure most of the really really fucked up chink scams /csg/ run into come from Gearbest unless it's Xiao fakes which mostly happen on Ali. Plus the Aliexpress dispute system heavily favours the buyer and fucks over the chinks, at Gearbest you have to go through ten thousand Engrish conversations with "Dana" the customer service agent to ultimately get a small refund.

I've only ran a few test files on win10 from jellyfish, the 3Mbps 10 bit hevc had subjectively smooth playback at 1080P.
I don't yet have any tools installed to give objective numbers, but I can see this working well if you can ignore the issues the hibook has. Other then the driver issues it really does feel well made.

Are the Rock Zircons that good as some of you say? Would it beat e.g. my $30 Sennheiser CX175s?
In the last 5 years, I had been using various lower end Sennheisers (CX 150, 175, 200 - from which the best is the 175) and in a maximum of 18 months, either one of the speakers or the cable died on me. Now I have replaced the jack on the 175 with a repairable, metal Amphenol plug and it's actually pretty good. However, the left side is getting quieter in the past weeks.
I'm asking, how durable are these chink earphones? If I can get something like 18 months out of them, I would be happy. Also, am I wrong to somehow feel that these Chinese companies are actually more honest than big names like Sennheisers or have I just fallen to the chink trap?
