Tried it.
Didn't like the lack of features, or the (too) simplistic UI.
In MPC-BE setting the subtitle rendering to max resolution made it indistinguishable from MPV to me.
Also, small shit like seekbar preview sells it for me, among other features.

Oh, and officially moved away from MPV when it stopped displaying video any time I connected my laptop to an external video source, such as a TV or projector.
No issues with MPC - or VLC for that matter.
It's telling me that xysubfilter is outdated after installing the nightly, but to my knowledge, it hasn't been updated since last October? How would it be out of date?

Sigh. I wish Linux/MacOS had something like MPC-HC. MPC is my favorite video player ever - it's simple, fast, and everything works in it. It does exactly what I need.
And no, wine doesn't really work with it. Guess I'll stick with VLC or mplayer.
