Every Android browser is a piece of shit - Why do we allow this?

The whole problem with Firefox was runaway development for no reason. Now it's just NotChrome and they're even getting rid of extensions. As long as they keep adding security fixes, it doesn't NEED anything else, it already does what it fucking needs to. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Firefox has the Stylish addon.
It also has a user script addon

It also has ublock origin.

How can anyone use such dogshit instead of Opera?
I actually want to join the botnet, have all my shit in one place, to not have to worry about maintaining this, or backing up that, manually doing this, keeping this separate from that etc.
But I can't read tiny fucking text on my phone, or keep going from side to side just to read a web page paragraph comfortably. Isn't Opera even based on the Chrome engine? So how do they have text reflow perfected while Chrome doesn't even have it at all?

Rooting voids warranty completely, and even if you flash back to stock they still will reject your warranty claim because they will be able to tell if you rooted your phone or added a custom ROM.

Rooting isn't bad unto itself, it's because you can't claim warranty after doing so that is the problem.

Rooting, or rather unlocking the bootloader, does not inherently void any warranty. Some (most) manufacturers have decided that it does, but it's not universal. Exceptions include I believe Nexus and Oneplus phones.

You should have to if you want to do it through the hosts file. Otherwise, you don't have to, as long as you use software that lets you. Firefox with Ublock Origin, for instance.

Still unsure how we went from warranties to this, but guess I'll just roll with it.

Can confirm what this Anon says. I was using a Gnex as late as a couple of weeks ago. I tried a lot of different browsers on it, but stuck with Firefox because it wasn't really any slower than the others, except for the Top Sites view on the home page, which is easily removed from settings.

I removed it out of habit on the 5X I use now, but maybe I should see what it's like to use it. It is otherwise indeed as snappy as Anon suggests.
