To develop and test, they have a hololens emulator but the first times i tried it didn't really work on my machine also theres only so much you can do with emulation.
Id say to have early access to it is worth it if you are a developer, if you are a consumer and just want to play not worth it.

Third-party support is coming first
there are already prototypes in SolidWorks and Inventor online.
The biggest group I see using these are still consultants and plugin developers but there is a lot of support on the vendor level as well. If you go to any of the conventions for 3D CAD these are everywhere now, especially architecture.

Through the remote management tool i can take room recordings and save them. Its a mess of polygons but they still seem useful, could clean them up in other programs if i can figure how to export and import them. So much to do.

The cameras for recording aren't that great, what i see looks better from the recordings, also there's some article online about how the resolution isn't that high yet on these things after all its a dev kit.
Can't even leave them as the resolution they are have to take out the sound for 4chan and use miro video converter to make them into webms and shrink them a bit to keep them under 3mb.
So enough about that, I'm going try some more stuff with Unity I guess.

unfortunately not yet. MS hasn't released the API for messing with the shell, basically making 3d widgets like they do. So for now you can only make single apps that show up one at a time and block out everything else.
