Honestly, it would be a waste of money unless you care about <10% improvement. If you want a tangible upgrade, you'll have to go with either x99 or z170 on the intel side, but again, it doesn't make sense from a monetary standpoint unless you're gaming on a high refresh rate monitor or are using it for certain productivity applications. Of course, if you're made of money, go ahead and buy a $500 x99 motherboard and put a $1000 i7 in there with it, although you'd probably get more enjoyment out of a bag of coke and a hooker.
