How do you close a program on a Mac?
How do you change open windows in the same program on a Mac?
How do you switch from one program to another while the window is maximized, causing the taskbar to disappear?
How do you restore a minimized window when you have the program already open?
Can you have two windows side by side that are not the same program on a Mac?
Why is there a second maximize button also on the right corner in some windows?

Except it does. That's all it does, unlike Windows where it sometimes kills the entire program.

My wallpaper is 2560x1600 (cropped to 2560x1440). My display is 5120x2880, exactly 2x in each dimension. The wallpaper looks roughly the same as it would on a 2560x1440 monitor of the same size. You're essentially looking at a zoomed in version of my desktop.

At least it's not as tacky as Windows 7. I agree that they overdid it though. Flatter is nice, but I think it's just too much on Windows 10. But it's still better looking than Windows 7.

It's obvious that the Windows UI has been designed in compartments by people with no background in visual design.
>>
>>54806248
95 to Vista were made by designers
7 was just Vista with some crappy changes
>>
>>54806248
>it's clear that Windows UI has been designed
Id say it's the opposite. It's just a coincidental thing that happened clearly. No human being would think it looks good or serves a purpose well.
>>
>>54806245
Great argument.
If you have a 2560x1440 screen that is 27" large, and another screen that is 5120x2880, also 27" large, what do you need to do to make sure the UI is the same size on both displays?
I'll give you a few minutes to figure that one out.
>>
>>54806224
No it wasn't. There wasn't much flashy going on in 98, but the reason is not the design philosophy, but technical limitations.

Windows 98 design holds up much better in modern design than XP, Vista or 7.
>>
>>54806326
No it's not. You display physically cannot show screenshots taken at my computer at their normal size. Everything will 4 times as large on your display because for every pixel you have, mine has 4 in the same area. That's a physical limitation of your display. The only way you could mitigate it is to downsample the screenshot.
Pic related. In fact I could just take a screenshot with the UI scaling turned off and it'd look roughly the same as this.

>>
>>54805127
Because it's moronic. Window handling should be separate from the menus, which are on the left usually.
>>
>>54806494
The menus aren't on the windows in OS X. There's a universal menu. This fits into the idea of having a program run even with no windows, since you can always click on the dock icon and use the menu bar to open new files or windows.

Fucking idiot, I can see your shit natively. Which is what your monitor does too, I'm not seeing a 'zoomed in version'.
>>
>>54805127
If anything having it on the left is the more plausible choice. But anyway, it just doesn't matter that much, you get used to it very quickly. Also, I kind of never use them ever, I just use shortcuts instead.
>>
>>54806561
So how large is your monitor? Unless it's 24" or smaller, you're still seeing my screenshots larger than I would thanks to the fact you're pixel density is lower.
I hope your monitor is larger though, because unscaled 4k on a 24" monitor would be a pain to use. I'd like to think people would know better by now.

1 pixel for every pixel. That doesn't mean your pixels are the same size and density as mine are.

Better than someone who can't even understand area and density.
>>
>>54806725
If his monitor was small, it'd mean he'd have to be sitting very close to his monitor. That's generally not comfortable for most people and I believe it's even bad for your eyes. Why do you think I said I hoped his monitor was larger?

That is such bullshit

The process he describes (adding a dropdown, XAML, etc.) is literally just a drag-and-drop in Visual Studio

You literally just drag the dropdown out of the tools menu and drop it on the control you want and it will generate the XAML and C#/C++ code for it, AND it will automatically generate the resource name

The guy knew this and decided to make-believe that the tools to automate what he described don't exist.

Almost every complaint in that screenshot was typed by a fucking noob

The first one is automatically done in Visual Studio,

The second one is retarded because everyone uses Entity Framework, no one types SQL statements manually anymore

The third one is just a complaint against management practices? Has nothing to do with the framework or environment

The fourth one sounds like it was typed by a schizophrenic or someone suffering from a psychotic episode.

The fifth one pisses me off the most

>you have to have the proper things installed
>like .net 4.0 or 4.5, the html components, the asp.net components

Nigger what? You download and install Visual Studio and EVERYTHING is installed automatically. Literally fucking everything.

If you have the latest .NET framework, you have ALL of the pervious .NET frameworks too

You don't "install HTML and asp.net components", what the fuck does that even mean? Do you mean NuGet packages? Because those are installed once and TFS tracks then and installs them for every other developer.

I'm done I'm not reading anymore of this bullshit
