>Be as proprietary software-free as you can
I agree.
>FreeBSD on your computer
>Cyanogenmod Nightly on your phone
If you wanti to be as free as possible, you can do better.
My setup:
Desktop: Coreboot/FreeBSD
Laptop: Libreboot/OpenBSD
Server: Libreboot/FreeBSD
Router: OpenBSD (no BIOS, just U-Boot)
Phone: Replicant
Excellent thread

Kek. I admire your Stallman levels of idealism, but last I checked replicant only worked on 3 y.o. Phones, and no WiFi, GPS, or any data above like 3G worked. It's just not practical.
Just not subjecting your phone to Google is already a huge step. I'll take my gapps free cyanogenmod phone and standard Debian laptop.

>coreboot
It still contains blobs that can be used to fuck you over and exert control over your computer.
>BSD
Contains blobs as well and has nonfree software.
>Replicant
For now, I use a Libreboot Thinkpad X200 running Trisquel.

Yeah Google has a huge hand in core boot considering its what firmware is used in their chrome books.
I'm just nervous to take the foss firmware route because it's 100% easier to brick your computer.

You can buy routers and other libre computers with them already installed. It's what I did and I reflashed Libreboot recently from source too.

Oooh nice. Yeah I'll probably do that for the next laptop I buy, I've got a 3 Y.O. HP that's getting me through engineering school with only 1 screen replacement and 1 battery replacement needed. In a few years I'll probably get a new laptop.
What laptop do you recommend that's modern with Libre boot on it?
