I have to enroll in an operating system class next fall. How fucked am I, or is the difficultly exaggerated?

Fear is irrational. It'll be fine.

It's the same shit you already did in computer architecture.

my school's was a meme class.
the sub who taught it at first said he would have made us at least make a Linux kernel module.
Mine had a total of 4 mps, 1 midterm, and 1 exam. It wasn't bad at all.

I had OS classes in my IT oriented high-school. There was a lack of teachers, so the school brought in some ex-teacher that had like 3 businesses.
Basically, we'd play Armagetron and other games like that on our fresh Suse installation while he was usually outside the classroom making phonecalls.

What is the description of the class?

That's nice, but OP wasn't looking for information on your dumbass high school class

Checked.

Depends on the projects.
But if you start early instead of procrastinating and go to the professor with legitimate questions from lectures during office hours, it won't necessarily be the most difficult class you take this semester

I'm in an OS class right now.
So far we're doing cache lines and DMA transfers.
Not too bad, but there's a lot of memorization to be done. Though we're going to be programming in C fairly soon.
