Does faster RAM actually benefit you in applications or is it just a gaymer meme?
Only results I could find on google were gaymen benchmarks.
If the application uses lots of memory bandwidth yes it does help
Hell if you sli 1080s you get a fps boost in a few games
But really for the average person super fast ram is completely a waste of money

Unless you have an unlocked CPU, faster RAM speeds won't help. You can't overclock the memory controller if the chip is locked.

One time I resized an image to the point where the file was 30 gigs and the process took up a consistent 4 gigs of ram for about 30 minutes. It'll most likely speed up batch editing or large images. You'll likely never need anything over 16 gigs tho.
