i chose amd so long as they are competitive, and they are competitive, almost every time i buy a card they are the value buy, the next card i get may very well be the last one needed for 1080p, as in it will have enough headroom to comfortably play 1080p games at 120~ fps and if i don't get a 120 monitor, even as graphics improve, it will still be ahead of the 60fps monitor till i do a full computer upgrade.

One of the reason why people are accusing Nvidia for gimping their cards is simply because it doesn't perform as good as newer card in a new title.
GTX960 almost all the time beat GTX780 in new title such as DOOM.
Compare this to less recent such as Mordor or Crysis 3 where 780 decimate GTX960.
