recommended distros? (not gentoo)
im bored of unbuntu and i want to try somthing new, is centOS good?
also distros general i guess

Try Fedora
Fedora for rpm and dnf, fuck about with RedHat server stuff.
Arch for muh bleeding edge and AUR.
Void or Stali for interesting unique distros.

OpenSUSE, Leap is actually stable now. Netinstall iso is recommended.
I can't recommend any of the systemd-free distros at the moment, devuan being the closest thing to anything good. Unfortunately they have a repository issue and it's not getting all too much attention it seems.

If you don't use it as a server, don't install CentOS. You can install Fedora, OpenSuse Tumbleweed, Debian, Arch Linux, Slackware, Gentoo (evem if you said not, but it's good enough)
