Post your less-known free software product or application that you like to use.

I use LightShot desktop for taking quick cropped screenshots.

I hope you aren't actually using this in industry
>>
>>54771628
No, just for fun and learning.

Would be nice to be able to program some kind of real device with it, though.
>>
>>54771659
I agree. Having to use the 7gb xilinx ISE to do anything sucks
>>
I use and like digikam for my photography workflow.

Leafpad is also nice.

I like to use GNUCash to manage my budget and spending.

CLAM Chordata: http://clam-project.org/wiki/Chordata_tutorial

it analyses audio files, displaying the chords, scales, notes etc... in real time with playback. obviously you can navigate through the track, pause, and so on. super useful. pic related.

Is this real?
Does it really work?

there's a margin of error with very complex / layered music (huge orchestras, weird electronica etc...), but it is surprisingly accurate regardless.

Launchy

It's a FOSS application launcher. Default keystroke to toggle it is alt+space, which I find very convenient so I just kept it that way. Easier than clicking, and the search is much faster than the default Windows search. It also learns your most used programs, so for example I just have to type "f" and the first suggestion will immediately be foobar2000. Plus it also works as a calculator, web search, and some other stuff. Very light on memory too.

wehen it's actually a huge clusterfuck.

believe me, i've tried creating a advanced theme (multible overlays, tabs, etc), its horrible.
>>
>>54772740
Nah, it doesn't send the information anywhere. Plus it's open source, so you can check the code if you want.
>>
>>54772617
I'm testing it out. It's kinda cool. Too bad it doesn't accept flac.

Anyway, thanks.
>>
>>54772902
yeahyeah! it's a killer piece of software. it should actually be able to handle 8, 16, and 24 bit signed pcm flacs, but not all flacs (see here: http://clam-project.org/wiki/Frequenly_Asked_Questions#Which_audio_formats_are_supported.3F), but i guess that hasn't been implemented yet, as it only seems to open wavs and various lossy formats on my system at the moment.

dwb, a minimalist web browser that despite trolls say is abandoned is not.
avconv, to convert and edit video from the command line. Is a newer, upgraded version of ffmpeg.

And mocp, the terminal music player. Easier to set than mpd, easier to navigate too, and you can close the terminal and still keep it running in the background. See pic.
