Upload speeds are fucking suffering in the UK, atleast I get this for free in my place. And my ping is fantastic.

I used to live in rural Spain and the fastest we could get after dial up was ADSL once it rolled out which was 256kbit/s. Nowadays it's around 3mbit but the latencies and packet drops make it fucking awful for anything other than very basic browsing.
