When will Pajeet move from Java to a superior language like Haskell just like every European is at the moment?

They'd have to learn category theory.
Haskell is shit, who the fuck makes a living off of it?
You fell for the multi-level marketing scam.
>>54751023
Facebook uses it
like, all those systems and legacy systems, everything would have to be abandoned/rewritten. I can tell corporations would be all for it so that your loop would be loopier

>who the fuck makes a living off of it?
Lots of people do.
People from my uni with phds from our haskell group walk straight into >£100k jobs very comfortably.
Not saying I'm a big fan of haskell, but there are jobs out there, and they pay very highly.
>>54753578
What to they do?
>>54750494
Why poo in a monad when I can poo in an AbstractStreetConstructor?
>>54753611
by haskell group I meant functional group, but it's mostly haskell they use
lots of banks are employing haskell developers currently, not sure what they do exactly though
think standard chartered use haskell a lot too
>>54750494
The guy who wrote the FLTK Haskell bindings is Indian.
Is Haskell worth learning, I already know Erlang, are the two similar?
>>54753904
Haskell is the most popular function language afaik, so if you like it, then sure go ahead
Not sure how similar to Erlang it is though
I only really learnt it because it was a module at uni, don't really know any uses for it outside the assignments I was given
>>54753578
surely they earn £100k/year because of their haskell knowledge and ability to write unmaintainable code, rather than their phd.
>>54753932
Yeah probably, but the PhD probably helps a load when it comes to getting those jobs
