Unsecure, proprietary, HTML5 replaces it completely. There is no reason to use flash in the current year, except fr site owners being too lazy to integrate html5 support.

i won't be bullied by the /g/ troll any longer. who is a janitor i believe

Why would anyone like adobe flash
>>
Even normies hate flash. They don't get why it keeps asking them to update even though "did it last week."
>>
it's obsolete unsecure garbage
>>
>>54746426
It's an insecure and unnecessary pile of shit
>>
I use it to play porn vector 2d animations, there's just nothing else out there in terms of 2d that allows randomization like that.

Normies hate flash because it updates too frequently and slows down their computer. Google Chrome mostly blocks it by default, so it takes longer to use and puts that annoying bar at the top.

/g/ hates flash because FREEDOM, it slows down their computers, and updates too frequently, which is a sign of it needing updates too frequently for comfort.

There's a lot of to hate.

>Maintained by pajeet; extremely buggy, often serves as a vector for malware. Frequently causes browser hangs, is among the leading causes of crashes.
>Proprietary; animations written in it cannot be rendered in other applications, emdedding flash in your application can cause all of the above problems in your application. >Has DRM.
>Limited platform support
>>
Looks like adobe flash player got exploited recently like 2 weeks ago with ransomware and steal your bank log your info type shit. good thing I got windows 8.1 that integrates flash into the browser vs having to get adobe flash player software from the site.

Good thing I use a real browser that has click to activate. Regardless I don't have Flash installed anyway.
>>

I can't talk on behalf of a chineese cartoon board, but I hate it because it slows down everything it is in, causes only non-botnet browser to crash constantly, causes crashes in every browsing scenario eventually, and most importantly it gets constantly breached and is a really big security issue.

Not so important reasons are these: even adobe uses flash download to push stuff you'd never want and only old people would accidentally click, perhaps they're aware how their software is being used.

And the sad part is I loved flash animations as a kid, and I loved flash games. Most of the stuff I like will probably never get migrated, and I'm probably never going to properly back them up. Still I want flash to die.

>no hardware acceleration thus videos are software rendered causing high CPU usage and poor performance
>proprietary licensing causes freetards to flip a shit so you have to jump through hoops to get it on linux
>a legacy pile of shit that was garbage when it was new that has not been improved upon in any meaningful way in its 20-year reign of mediocrity after having been passed the torch from Java Applets
>obsolete: everything it was historically used for on the web can be done with javascript and new webapis such as canvas, webaudio, etc; even svg/css animation is a better choice
>major security issues
>can grab input from webcam, microphone, usb devices, basically anything attached to computer automatically and even so conveniently as to not require your consent BUT
>no hardware acceleration
>>

Because it was a great idea executed poorly

Now we're getting adobe flash's functionality as a core part of the browser instead. After all, you can't have a good web page without animated slide out nav bars with animated slide out menus. Yay? God, fuck young nerds.

>lol its so cool it's 20XX we're doing this cool thing who cares about harmful software hire mroe devs and buy better computers it's 20XX

>open youtube video
>cpu spikes to 99%
>fans kick on
>fans set to over drive
>have to turn volume up to hear video with fans ruining the video's audio by making my room sound like an airport
if I can watch blueray rips (4-12 gb files for an hour of video) without a problem, I should be able to watch 5 minutes of 240p without thinking something is going to blow up.
>>
people seem to forgot the constant security issues constantly posted
>>
Now that youtube has HTML5 reader the only reason to use flash ever is to play rondo duo or to get a nostaliga trip on sfwchan, zone archive or /t/.
>>
>>54747214
Unsecure, eh?
>>
Literally the only reason I use it is for porn games online and offline.
