I am getting off optical media entirely. Too much storage space was wasted on these. (VHS were worse, but it really still is too much - I had boxes and boxes of CD and DVD, and they gave DVD and Blu-Ray usually bigger cases for some fucking reason).

There is no chance in hell more people revert to DVD and Blu-Ray. They will die out eventually.

They don't even work with the computers people use most by far- smartphones. Besides the bandwidth obstacle to watching video is gone for most people.
