There are models that have 3 o'clock crowns, and dials are the only unique bit about them as the dial feet are slightly different in comparison to a standard dial on a 4'oclock version.

Though a lot of the Seiko 5 sports line have 3o'clock crowns, so they really aren't rare/unique. Uncommon mostly.

>>54735817
Oh cock, you dun goofed.

You got the only variant of the 7S26 you shouldn't get.
>>
>>54735931
why?

>The 7S26A was the original movement, introduced in 1996. It was revised with an Etachron regulator in 2006, becoming the 7S26B. Another revision, the 7S26C began appearing in 2011.
>>
>>54735802
no idea i saved the pic from one of these threads

was going to ask the same question myself in a little while
>>
>>54735952
The B variant has issues with the hairsprings getting stuck/fucked/misplaced.

It's not terminal, but it's a real pain to deal with since the new regulator means you'd need extra tooling instead of just a good pain of steady hands.
>>
>>54736032
ok thanks.

it was 40€, if it breaks before 5 years I will probably try and get an estimate for repair, but if it's more than 20€ I will probably buy another.
>>
>>54736048
Will likely need either a completely balance assemble or a donor movement, so more than 20euros.

You already said on earlier threads on how poor are you, but it still surprises me since a new Seiko 5 is just 70$~

There are metric shittons of various models for the Seiko 5 line, and at least a good 30 that look like yours.

Why is it so god damn hard to find Ricoh parts? Pic related, not mine but very similar.

I'd bid on a poo2loo Indian disaster for a donor, but I'm afraid those curries actually put repainted "Ricoh" dials on Indian Citizen-clones.

Also the dial on mine is a bit fucked, the 9 on a shield is missing (kinda like Seiko's 5 logo), but at least it's still an original.

Sometimes, because they're a local craft that might not sell well unless it's marked low.

I like my single penis KQ better than my twin penis GQ, but it may just be that the KQ is in much nicer shape overall. Also the KQ runs more accurately, apparently those twin quartz movements start to have weird interactions between the crystals when they start aging and they lose accuracy and they're a bitch to re-regulate.
>>
>>54744771
Yes if you subject them to shocks, because most analog movements have no way of knowing that the hands got fucked up so they can gain or lose time with an impact.

But in realistic normal usage, they're pretty much the same. The moving parts don't affect the timekeeping circuit.

Thanks. It's definitely the cutest chronograph I've ever had, why people can't make this size anymore, I can't say. The flyback feature is really neat, I can see it being useful for stuff like lap timing. Seems to reset to zero, runs quiet, rotor sounds smooth, I just need to figure out how to de-fuck the date wheel (quickset works so I'm hoping it's just a misaligned pawl).

And Christ, I didn't know you had a 52 KS! Where and how much? These things were pretty much the pinnacle of the 52xx movement, and I'm on the hunt.

temperature, position, how much reserve is in your mainspring, and shocks to the movement are all going to affect the timekeeping. i'm sure there are others.

I do like many models: Genève, De Ville, Seamaster, Constellation. I rather prefer Automatic or hand winding over quartz, but I wouldn't mind some nice looking quartz if I get a nice deal.
I'm currently following this auction of a quartz Omega Constellation, what do you think? What would be a good price for this one?
It's going now for 100€ but there's still 10h left. The seller is only willing to send within Germany which decreases the number of bidders, or at least I hope so.

Nope. Once I'm satisfied with the plastic prototype, I'm going to look for a relatively affordable metal 3D printing or machining service. Even though they tend to be quite pricy, it's still cheaper than getting a custom leather strap.

It's standard since I just wanted a basic lug adapter, but I designed it with ease of use in mind (I want to be able to access the spring bars easily).

Not exactly bitter.

But that Omega is ugly, meaning it'll be a bitch to sell unless you're losing money on it, and you lack my Jewish photography skills.

You can even get 3D printers using glass, building structures using a thin flow of liquid glass.

>enough money to get me to Mexico
I see you have planned this in detail.

I like the clarity, readability and tidiness of Patek Philippe watches. For my eyes though I would need lume and tritium, which is probably too outré for this brand.

There exists even a digital sun dial, a clever design.

Ordering one of these soon.

I like digitals.

But I also feel the urge to get something that goes well with a shark mesh for this summer.

I want things I cannot have.

On the plus side I rediscovered my gramps old late '60s Oris Star self-winding automatic so I'm going to have that repaired and slap a nice crocodile leather strap on it.

Truth

I used to lust over mid range seikos, now that I could easily buy one and not even notice the effect on my money, I wouldn't wear one if it was free

Now a low end luxury watch is within easy reach but I'm only interested in rare historic pieces that cost more than a watch should cost

any more knowledgeable folks see anything incredibly iffy about this?
>>
>>54752213
Not really, I've seen Amphibias with SS bezel and Seiko insert go for 100-110 bucks brand new.

That one is preowned and has some marks.
>>
>>54752213
Seems to be 120 case with one of the correct newer dials for it.Bezel looks like a Boris bezel.

Iffy part would be that the guy tinkering with it seems to have scratch some paint off the hands while trying to remove them.
