Is UX a meme profession?
yes, because it is all bullshit and fakery.
> meant to be unbiased, reflective design about interacting with items on the page
> like a door handle - it's there to pull, not push
> if someone flipped the doorhandle, people would keep slamming it in the wrong direction
It's known as a Norman Door

But, in all honesty, it is about making things have an "order" on the page, and not just slapped everywhere like a toddler with Dreamweaver.
So long as you have a working brain, you can do UX. Nothing else matters.

Yes and no
>Is UX a meme profession?
No, it's a necessary and worthwhile cause.
Not everybody can design well. Especially those that think they can design well.
Nope. Once you've worked in an environment where people design things you are exposed to people who are truly shocking and have no skill for design.
The difficult thing is working with clients who insist on design changes that look dreadful. But oh well, it's their shitty design they're paying you to do.

Only if you never want to make money off of your code.
Open Sores can get away with not doing any UX work and exclusively focusing on the internals, but to produce an actual product, you need an interface that people actually like.
