Why would anyone want to use Debian stable?
>>54710250
Server
>>54710250
Because it's the most stable OS?
>>54710250
so they could add the testing repositories after installing with a *stable* installer.
>>54710250
Because only stable gets the security updates
Because you're a SJW cuck
>>54710904
Alsa didn't work out of the box. I'm not even joking.
>>54711000
He said "stable", not turnkey. Debian is stable as in unlikely to crash, and stable as in things don't really change.
>>54711000
what the fuck do you need sound for on a server
>>54710250
Proxmox VE
>>54710250
If you have to ask, you probably wouldn't understand, anyway.
PS -- I don't run any form of Debian.
Stability
just werks
>>54710250
Because it's stable.
so xscreensaver can tell you that your shit is out of date.
>>54710250
Because not everyone is an Archfag that wants to update every day and possibly have it break something. Stable is "it doesn't change and doesn't break, except for security patches". And for a lot of people bleeding-edge features just aren't very important at all, and low-maintenance is.
>Stable
That's it
I don't know, especially when the gentoo hardened stable branches exist.
