I have an ASUS Xonar DG intern soundboard, do i need FiiO E10K Olympus 2 DAC for my Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro headphones?

>he fell for the internal soundcard meme

Not OP but I've been running my pro 990's on my gigabyte gaming 5 with nothing else...
what would you recomend I use?

Got a good motherboard?
Just use it.
You can check what realtek codec is on your motherboard on newegg in the specifications.
If you habe anything like a alc898, 889, or even a 1150, you're fine with it
are they the 32 or 250 ohm version?
you know what, it doesn't even matter. you're fine.

"nothing else"? you have an excellent onboard DAC with it's own dedicated headphone amp and filtered power. everything is isolated from the rest of the mobo circuitry.
unless something is audibly wrong, you're done.
if you have to spend money, spend it on different headphones instead. they make many more orders of magnitude difference than changing your electronics.
I prefer an external DAC to soundcards.

DT990 Pro, 250 Ohms version.

Look for efficiency, not for omh. My MB realtek 889 can drive HD800 with 192khz/24bit quality to 100-115 db. You will go deaf before you need more power nor you more quality as it reach far beyond of human ear.

Totally forgot I can change impedance options.

Really? A device that had to be included in PC's for over a decade is a meme.
Kill yourself you faggot. Seriously..do it. You are everything wrong in a nutshell.

HiFime Sabre DAC with the same ES9023 chip and USB receiver like JDS Labs ODAC that's in Nwavguy's blog. Then get yourself a Objective 2 amp later down the track. The DAC itself is said that it can power 250ohm Sennheiser HD650s.
Or the ES9018K2M 2-channel HiFime DAC if you want a better chip like $50,000 Sennheisers HE-1's ES9018 8-channel chip.

Fuck. I have to correct myself. The second DAC can power HD650 (300 ohm). I'm not a audiophile but these HiFime DACs are a good upgrade path rather than a FiiO.
