i haven't had occasion to need more than the 32GB of RAM i have except when i was doing some social network analysis stuff involving lots of nodes and shit, and in that case swap from an SSD (or even 2 SSDs in a RAID 0 array) would've been too slow.
but when i have work that exceeds my desktop's capacity, i have a lab machine that I can remote into. 1TB of RAM, 64 cores.
point is, unless i was doing day to day stuff that required more than 32GB, i wouldn't ever need swap. and everything that even approaches that need is usually research-related, so i can just use the server

I have 32 GB RAM and don't need a swap.
If I did I have an ssd I don't use since I upgrade to a 950 Pro that's 128 GB which is more than plenty for swap. It's plugged in but not initialized by Windows. I literally don't use it.
