It has no part or model number, no serial, but is a complicated gadget with a multi-prong interface as well as a circular jack and a tripod thread. It was recovered from a lot of cryptographic gear.
WHAT THE HECK IS THIS THING?

A radio of some kind it looks like
Side.
IBM Magnabelt. It was part of a voice dictation system from the '60s. Cool find.

What radio goes from 1 to 100?
Also you can uncouple the arrow and move it up and down the scale freely by pressing the lever below.
Other side has a battery door for C batteries. Also to the right of that door, is a sort of catch and a mechanism that feels like it wants to swing out and away, or come uncoupled when I press that textured area down, but I can't figure out which way to rotate and / or move it and don't want to break it.
The whole thing is heavy and reeks of quality. The finish is 100% perfect, all levers etc. work and are positive in feel.

No dude I mean can you use the device to take selfies? Because otherwise it's useless. All I want to do is take selfies.

Tell you what, I'll make up an adapter to feed it 10.7v and record the dictabelt to vocaroo.
Give me till next weekend, I'll make a thread.
