It's prevalent in the bullshit parts of "startup culture" and "brogramming". Actual real computer science done by real companies that aren't low paid game shops full of autists don't have this issue.
For example where I work is mainly PhDs doing research on compiler optimization. There are women here doing the research too but everybody is professional. Before I worked for some hipster startup where it was nerds who have never met a girl before in their life so sperg out to the max with zero social skills like stalking girls at work or writing them weird letters.
I just show up to work, work, and gtfo. I don't hang out after work, I don't go to "team building events", and when I want to get laid I go to a bar to meet big tittied blonde chicks who are yoga teachers, I don't want to bang the weaboo girls I work with.
