Can someone please explain to me why this is happening? I'll be browsing youtube and out of nowhere my entire computer will just freeze up for a good 45 seconds, then go back to normal, then do the same thing again. I have 1 web page open in chrome and am running a scan with MSE. I have 8gb of ram, and it eats it all up. If I attempt to open an explorer window to find a folder this happens. What is going on?

No. Maybe if Windows was FOSS we could help you out but at the moment you're getting what you deserve as a proprietary cuck. Install Gentoo.
Update to windows 10 please
Stop using MSE, or schedule scans over night. What do your processes look like?
Buy a Mac. They're good for browsing Youtube with.

Stop being a winfag and install linux.
Try using another browser on YouTube. If the problem persists, then its not your browser. Possibly malware.
If it doesn't persist, then do a clean install of chrome/firefox ...unless its malware targeting a specific browser only..in which case reformat
