On the real here? I have owned a ton of both MSI and Asus. As well as a few other manufacturers for friends and family.
Of the past few years Asus is ahead. But they both are ahead of any other boards I have tested. AMD or Intel, I have had 30 computers since 2005 all for me. EVGA had one board I liked (the SR2) otherwise the best are always Asus and MSI and far too close to call.
Personally my last few have been Asus because the slight boost is enough to justify choosing them. UEFI, overclocking front panel, usb 3.1 support first, DDR4 support first etc.
On the real. Of the past 10 years the BEST mobos I have had the pleasure of owning are the MSI-K9A2 platinum with quad crossfire, the Asus z9 dual Xeon, the Asus Rampage V Extreme, and the EVGA Super Record 2 dual Xeon.
