The performance of a cad does not increase over time.
If you buy a car, you can put someone in that drives like ass, ruins fuel mileage and wears down components like crazy, or you can put someone behind the wheel that drives like a sensible person and drives it with care.

In that metaphor, AMD's car comes with a driver that isn't as good at first, but they replace it with a better one whenever possible.
Nvidia's car, on the other hand, will have the same quality of driver during all its lifetime. It means one of two things, either A) Nvidia's car was intrinsically worse to begin with and after AMD improves there's nothing they can do, or B) Nvidia could also provide better drivers and keep their lead, but deliberately choose not to. Both of which are bad for you if you're a nvidiafag.
Not only that, recently Nvidia has deliberately given their metaphorical cars worse drivers to force you to buy the new model. And blatantly lied about their cars, selling them with missing components that make the car stall if you stress it too much. And it has been sponsoring road construction in order fuck the roads up so that AMD cars and Nvidia's older models drive poorly on them, again to try and force people into buying their new models. And then the organization that oversees the production of gearboxes, with the help of the rest of the industry, decided on an open standard for allowing engine RPM to rise and lower freely without being constrained by gear shifting like it always was, which AMD and Intel implemented in their cars, but Nvidia went ahead and said "fuck the industry standards, we're gonna make our own gearboxes, which are going to do exactly the same thing as the open standard, but be more expensive, require proprietary hardware, and only work on our cars!"
And to top it off, they don't even make the fastest cars in most of the price ranges they compete in.
I don't understand with people still defend this absolutely shit car company.

Probably the former, it's already been shown that Nvidia drivers increase performance by around 10% over several years, all this graph shows is that AMD drivers are so shit it takes them 3-4 years to get proper drivers out.

AMD cards are better and cheaper, but start out with crappy drivers.
I'm still not sure if Nvidia cards do get gimped over time, or if Nvidia just totally stops optimizing for them after a year.

Any modern GPU can do native recording. I use Mirillis Action to get MP4 video without framerate drops from my R9 380.
Even a Intel GPU can do native real time mp4 recording with QuickPath.

AMD gpu are more expensive because they move less volume. Prices on Pascal will lower as the sales increases. AMD have no competing products. They best they can do is a paper launch and HOPE to decrease some of the sales with their sub $300 390x replacement. (wasn't the 290x under $300 before 300 series launch anyways? So basically they're just giving you the same pref/dollar as they did in 2014 with Polaris)

Asynchronous Shading. Fury X gets 20% increased performance with games that utilize it, Nividia cards actually get reduced performance. AMD cards are about to get a massive boost once it becomes standard and Nvidia is going to have to completely rework their architecture to utilize it.
