how to get rid of a bios password on my laptop?
log in and remove it, obviously.

unplug from AC and battery, remove CMOS battery. Wait 15 seconds then replace the CMOS battery and then power it back up.

You removed the cmos battery, not the laptop battery right?

the cmos battery will not erase a password. the physical jumper must be crossed which are not present in laptops, so the person would have to locate a diagram of the board and short the traces manually
