This is a support thread for Meriken's Tripcode Engine.

3.2.1 (May 20, 2016)
Add CUDA support for Linux. Add support for Linux 32-bit x86
and POSIX-compliant operating systems other than Linux.
Improve process/thread management.

"Meriken's Tripcode Engine English" is a cross-platform application
designed to generate custom/vanity tripcodes at maximum speed.
It is arguably the fastest and most powerful program of its kind.
(This program actually runs faster than the original mty or
MTY_CL on the same hardware!) It makes effecitive use of
available computing power of CPUs and GPUs, and the user
can specify flexible regex patterns for tripcodes. It features highly
optimized, extensively parallelized implementations of bitslice
DES and SHA-1 for OpenCL, AMD GCN, NVIDIA CUDA,
and Intel SSE2/AVX/AVX2.

"Meriken's Tripcode Engine" is free software, licensed
under GPLv3 and available for free download at the following link:

Do you have an iTunes app store link?
>>
Support for Linux is almost complete with this version. Should be pretty stable.
>>
>>54662361
Never thought about that. I only have a 4 year old Mac mini, but I will consider that option.
>>
I suppose the next step is to add a GUI or network support...
>>
I guess not too many ppl here use Linux. I was surprised how polished Ubuntu is now, though. The last time I seriously tried Linux on desktop was circa 1993...
>>
free bump
>>
God where were you years ago when I was using tripexplorer?
>>
>>54662715
Yeah, I know... I am working on tripcode generation for three years now, though. It's fascinating, methinks.
>>
I forgot to mention this, but there are options for "special" tripcodes.
>>
Hmm...
>>
These options need to be specified together with the -c option:

--search-for-hiseki-on-cpu
--search-for-kakuhi-on-cpu
--search-for-kaibun-on-cpu
--search-for-kagami-on-cpu
--search-for-yamabiko-on-cpu
--search-for-souren-on-cpu
>>
so there's no way to take advantage of the GPU if i'm on a hackintosh? i'm using 346.03.06f01. seems kind of a shame with a 970 just driving some 4k monitors for desktop use otherwise.
>>
>>54663027
Is an OpenCL driver installed? If it is, where is it?
>>
>>54663027
What is the output of the following commands?

find /usr -name cl.h
find /usr -name libOpenCL.*

You may be able to use 970 ass an OpenCL device.
>>
Pretty cool OP.
>>
>>54663170
nothing found on either. hmm.
>>
Neat, gonna check this out when I got time.
>>
>>54663220
It should come with any version of CUDA Toolkit. You could try to install a lower version of CUDAA Toolkit.
>>
>>54663312
I'll try (re?)installing cuda. i've re-installed OS X a few times over the years so maybe i just forgot to do it this time after getting display drivers working...
>>
Hope you guys enjoy it... It was a lot of work, you know.
>>
>>54663326
How about these?

ls /usr/local/cuda/include
ls /usr/local/cuda/lib*
>>
>>54663411
23:45:23 @ hck ~ $ ls /usr/local/cuda/include
ls: cannot access '/usr/local/cuda/include': No such file or directory
23:45:25 @ hck ~ $ ls /usr/local/cuda/
lib
23:45:30 @ hck ~ $ ls /usr/local/cuda/lib
libcuda.dylib
>>
>>54663425
Interesting... I wonder where the CUDA include directory is. I will look into this. Pls feel free to email me later.

Fuck you. Seriously off yourself.
>>
>>54663553
I can look around. is this helpful at all? i'm not that familiar with cuda or gpgpu stuff

arigatou~
love ur program
>>
>>54663587
tripping is the equivalent of a vanity license plate. the driver in the car is equally a faggot whether their car says TOOCOOL or is relatively anonymous/randomly assigned.
>>
>>54663596
Ah, I see. You still need to install CUDA Toolkit. Let me update the GitHub repo just in case.
>>
>>54663614
ah okay. i'm downloading now, should be installing in a minute (gigabit connection so it's not too long to download a 1GB file...)
>>
>>54663598
Glad you like it :)
>>
>>54663630
okay, installed now. still no joy. poking around to see if i need to enable something after installation or something, but i'm not sure what i'm doing lol
>>
>>54663598
fifth cute fact about maki: she's a dumb whore and probably likes shit-tier memes like damn daniel and dat boi. >>>/a/
>>
>>54663680
also, find revealed no results but ls shows more stuff now
>>
>>54663692
rude
>>
>>54663695
If you were able to install Toolkit 7.5, all you need to do is to delete merikens-tripcode-engine-v3/, clone the GitHub repo, and build the app again.
>>
>>54663737
ah i need to build again. makes sense. okay, thanks.

i'll check in again if it's working so you know it's resolved
>>
>>54663744
That would be great!
>>
Hi only just started using your tool, it's really neat.

I was wondering if it's normal to see a drop in trips/s when using gpu+cpu?
>>
Alright, I got to go now. Enjoy tripping, and please feel free to contact me by email.
>>
>>54663779
Thanks! It's pretty normal. I wouldn't use -c and -g together. You could use -t option and run a smaller number of threads.
>>
/bin/sh: nvcc: command not found
i'm guessing i need to work out how to add the right directory to the path for sh
>>
>>54663830
PATH=/path/to/your/bins/parent/dir:$PATH
>>
>>54663904
yeah i needed to find the right path. it turned out to just be /usr/local/cuda/bin

i'm going to re-clone and try building again
>>
>>54663919
still not finding cl/cl.h
i think i need to change something to OpenCL/openCL.h or whatever, but it's a little past midnight and i'm a little buzzed. Meriken if you want to troubleshoot this later with someone running os x feel free to drop in on /g/tv or something

Nice try

see >>54663606
you're either cancer or you're not. tripping just makes you more visible.

Naice, I see you fixed the issue that occured with the new amd drivers, thanks a lot!
>>
>>54663243
Same here
>>
>>54664104
You now realise tripping helps you remove the cancer by allowing you to filter them.
