Upgrade to win8.1, its not that different from 7 and boots a hell of a lot faster, even on HDD. It's designed to be used on tablets so it's very lightweight compared to 7 as well.

From cold start to login screen with my laptop is 8 seconds.

You can easily disable OneDrive and other shit by taking ownership of the folders they are in and changing their filetypes.
