Ive been on linux for the last several years. It wasnt my problem at the time.
I was given a win7 laptop for school less than a year ago and this shit showed up soon after. I followed several guides and deleted a list of everything from all of the guides.

I have automatic upgrades set to "fucking never" so I hadnt gotten around fucking with the registry yet, I didnt realize just how botnet windows is now. I had assumed that "dont install shit ever" meant that nothing would be installed..

Windows 10 does not install on its own.
It does download on its own, which is absolute bullshit, but it will not install on its own.
Anyome who says it installed "on its own" agreed to have it installed when they clicked the button that said "Not now, Install Windows 10 later" rather than "No, I don't want Windows 10" text below it.
It is a malware tactic, just like the messages and popups, but it still said to install Windows 10.

Thanks for the link, Ill follow it after I reinstall the os.
I just rechecked the installed updates again, and 6/8 of the updates I listed are installed again.
I plan to do a clean install, get windows 10 licenes and make backup discs, and then wipe the drive and reinstall windows 7 and then follow the do not upgrade guide again.
Should i expect windows to penalize me in any way for this, or do something like when I walk back in the room Ill see "restoring your windows 10 upgrade do not restart your computer"

I installed win8 before win10 was out and then did a clean install again (got new ssd) a month or two ago.
As soon as I got the shitty UPGRAYDE NAO I checked how to get rid of them and sorted it. Even after the fresh install when it begged me to upgrade all I did was delete and permanently ignore the update which introduces GWX and set updates to manual.

I tried 10 on my laptop because continuum is supposed to be good (hybrid laptop/tablet) but holy fugging fugg was it a shitfest. Reverted and killed update GWX immediately, now I live a nag free lyf across my devices thank fuck.
