A while ago I ordered a $49 replacement Surface Pro 2 Replacement LCD. It came today and it was a laminated unit that included both the touchscreen, the lcd, and the wacom digitizer. I haven't installed it yet because USPS still has my Surface Pro and their claims take absolutely forever if you want the actual value you insured for. It looks NOS so as long as it works, it's probably legit. No pictures because I forgot and I'm not currently home but it was packaged very well and (unlike my Surface Pro) it didn't get manhandled in the post.
In the extreme off chance that USPS steals my Surface Pro and actually gives me the full value for it, does anyone know of any controller boards that will work with my LCD so I can hook it up to my desktop as a secondary monitor?

Ok, elephone p9000 lite came this week. Pretty dunk phone, it has some nice configurable gestures - swipe three fingers from top of screen to capture screen and doubletap to wake. Fun fact is, that contrary to pic, the bezel is there, and is about 1,5~1.7mm. The P9K lite doesn't have fingerprint sensor, notification led, and wireless charging, and probably the frame is less metal than normal p9000. Still, for 200 euro, it seems like a good phone if you don't want to buy a new mid-range phone every half a year-32GB onboard storage and 4GB of RAM. Ah yeah, GPS also works. Gotta admit, those chink shit phones got much a better - had a tabletphone 3-4 years ago, and everything but the screen size sucked so hard I could have said it was a 50 year old whore.
I will use that phone for developing some dunk apps and games, and gotta admit that also the gpu on this thing performs quite OKish, as I run AC: Identitis without problems.

It arrived today, put it together in about 2 hours. Assembly was pretty easy, some basic surface mount soldering and the rest was through hole.
Seems to work pretty decently; I was quite impressed with the firmware that's on it for how much it cost.
Two notes: the BNC cable probe that came with it didn't have some notches cut into the retaining ring, so it wouldn't fit on the probe contact. Luckily I have other probes, so it wasn't an issue.
Second, it does not come with a power supply or plug, so you'll have to supply your own 9v source.
