this just happened to me maybe 10 minutes ago, its their third time this month. the joke is im an engineer for cisco and am setting up a VM for them now to see what theyre up to.... i wouldnt have bothered but theyre persistent so I don't have a doubt they'll call again tomorrow. taking suggestions

You just gave me an idea.
Play along, but slowly make my voice quieter. As I continue talking to him, my voice will almost be inaudible. He will turn up his volume booster designed for old people with shitty phones.
When I am almost completely mute, I scream as loud as I can into the mic, scaring the shit out of him and causing him to yell. Will proudly be enjoyable for his colleagues to see.

I just crapped out a 7 iso. Originally I put them on a freshly formatted laptop but he got suspicious and started looking at IE history (none existed) etc. I literally googled 'tech support scam' and left the window open. I watched him read it, then mute me, then come back and go 'sir what do you do for work' and I told him I was an engineer to which he replied with 'computer or electrical.' I made sure to 'live in' the VM for a bit; installed a bunch of freeware, chrome, netscape, firefox, opera, and set my homepage to yahoo. Created a whole bunch of New Text File(s) then copied them 20x on the desktop. Seems so legit.

i've seen another thread like this. i don't understand what's happening to you people. why are you getting unsolicited calls to give you tech support?

I've done something similar with these assholes who call about "free home security systems". Usually I just fuck with them for a few minutes and waste their time, but this one time I just wasn't in the mood.
